The Ministry of Petroleum & Energy as part of its annual work plan, have conducted an awareness-raising campaign and distribution of efficient cookstoves and alternative cooking fuels to districts within the North Bank Region from the 16th to 22nd of December 2022.
The overall objective is to raise awareness of the efficient utilization of cookstoves and distribute these to NBR communities. The campaign team comprising officials from the MoPE, DCD, DoF, and GRTS embarked on a 7 days campaign to each of the districts in NBR to raise communities’ awareness levels as well as distribute efficient cooking technologies and fuels by raffling.
A total of about 694 efficient cookstoves (furno jambarr and noflie) with alternative cooking fuel (briquettes) have been distributed via raffle to communities in NBR.
